Still using a manual pallet truck?

A manual pallet truck relies on the operator to pump, push and brake every load. An electric pallet truck lifts and drives at the press of a button, so heavy pallets, ramps and trailers stop being a strain and one person moves more loads in a shift. The entry-level EP F4 costs from €1,100 ex VAT, with a removable lithium battery.

Questions about electric pallet trucks

How much does an electric pallet truck cost in Ireland?

Our EP F4 electric pallet truck starts at €1,100 (£950 in Northern Ireland) ex VAT, depending on fork size. Heavy-duty and ride-on trucks cost more, depending on capacity and battery. You can buy outright, take any truck on contract hire from 12 months, or spread the cost with finance.

Walk-behind or ride-on: which do I need?

Walk-behind trucks suit short runs, smaller sites and loading trailers. If your operators travel long distances across a warehouse or dock, or move many pallets an hour, a stand-on ride-on truck is faster and less tiring. The RPL20 PRO has a fold-down platform, so one truck can do both.

Can an electric pallet truck go up a ramp or into a trailer?

Yes, within its gradeability: the steepest slope it can climb with a load. For example, the F4 manages 6% laden and the RPL201 manages 8%. Each model page lists this. Tell us about your ramps and dock levellers and we'll recommend a truck that handles them.

Lithium-ion or lead-acid battery?

Most EP pallet trucks now come with lithium-ion, which charges on breaks and needs no watering or battery room. The heavy-duty EPT20-20WA and EPT25-WA are available with either. See our lithium-ion page to compare running costs.

Can I hire an electric pallet truck instead of buying?

Yes. Every model on this page is available on contract hire from 12 months, with servicing, repairs and inspections included in one monthly payment. We don't do short-term hire.

Who services and inspects it?

Our own mobile engineers service and repair EP warehouse trucks across all 32 counties, with genuine EP parts direct from the factory. They also carry out the statutory thorough examination of lifting equipment (GA1 in the Republic, LOLER in Northern Ireland). See service and parts.
