What makes the EFL252X5 work
The X5 is EP's step up from the entry X2, with more power and a battery that grows with your workload. Here's what it means in practice.
Battery that grows with you
The lithium-ion battery is built from 80V, 280Ah modules. Run one module, or fit a second for 560Ah when shifts get longer or the busy season arrives.
Performance close to diesel
A 16 kW drive motor and 24 kW lift motor give 17 km/h unladen and 25% gradeability. Drivers coming off an IC truck will not feel short-changed.
Built for rough ground
Pneumatic tyres and 150 mm of clearance under the wheelbase handle ramps, potholes and broken surfaces. Sealed electrics keep it working in the wet.
Top up in breaks
Lithium takes opportunity charging without any memory effect or loss of performance. There is no watering and no battery changing.
Room to work
The redesigned cab has an ergonomic seat with armrest, a wide brake pedal and hydraulic steering. A large display keeps the driver informed.
Good visibility
A high-visibility mast and LED lighting help on dull days and in darker corners of the yard. Free lift is 195 mm.

Questions about the EFL252X5
How does the modular battery work?
The battery is made of 80V, 280Ah modules. One module suits most single shifts. Fitting a second gives 560Ah for longer days or multi-shift work.
How is the EFL252X5 different from the EFL252X2?
The X5 lifts to 6.0 m against 4.8 m, travels at 17 km/h against 12 km/h, climbs 25% against 15% unladen, and has a much larger, expandable battery. The X2 is the entry-level choice for lighter work.
Can it handle rough ground?
Yes. Pneumatic tyres, 150 mm of ground clearance and a steel chassis suit ramps, uneven yards and loading docks, and the electrics are sealed for wet weather.
How does it compare with the EFL253?
Both are 2.5 t, 80V lithium trucks lifting to 6.0 m. The X5 runs on pneumatic tyres with a modular 280Ah battery and is quicker at 17 km/h. The EFL253 uses solid tyres, a 205Ah battery and travels at 12 km/h.
Can it replace a diesel or LPG forklift?
The X5 is EP's answer to IC trucks: up to 17 km/h, 25% gradeability unladen and 150 mm ground clearance, with 2.5 t capacity and 6 m lift. Where diesel or LPG ran long shifts, a second 280Ah module (560Ah total) covers the hours. Send us your loads and ground conditions and we'll confirm.
Can I hire the EFL252X5?
Yes, on contract hire from 12 months, with servicing and repairs included in one fixed monthly payment. We don't offer short-term hire. See forklift hire.
