Why go electric at 5 tonnes and over?
Heavy diesel trucks are the most expensive forklifts to fuel and service. EP's heavy-duty electric range covers 5 to 7.5 tonnes with 96V lithium systems, and its high-voltage EP Pro trucks lift 16 to 25 tonnes on 580 to 618V systems, with the power of a large diesel and none of the fumes.

Questions about high-capacity electric forklifts
What is a high-voltage forklift?
It is an electric forklift whose battery and motors run at a much higher voltage than a standard truck: 580 to 618V on EP's HV models, against 80V on a typical 3-tonne truck. That gives the power needed to lift 16 to 25 tonnes all day.
Can an electric forklift replace a large diesel truck?
For most heavy-duty work, yes. EP's high-capacity trucks are built for steel, timber, concrete, stone and container handling. We'll check your loads, attachments, ground and shift pattern on a site survey before recommending a model.
What charging do I need for a high-capacity electric forklift?
Bigger trucks need a suitable power supply for their chargers. We'll check your site's supply on the survey and tell you exactly what's needed before you order, so there are no surprises.
Do you have models between 3.8 and 16 tonnes?
Yes. The CPD50L1 and EFL504 lift 5 tonnes and the EFL754-6 lifts 7.5 tonnes. For other capacities, ask us: EP builds a wide range and we can source the right truck.
Can I hire a high-capacity forklift?
Yes, on contract hire from 12 months, with servicing, repairs and GA1/LOLER inspections included in one monthly payment. We don't do short-term hire.
Who services the forklift?
Our own mobile engineers service and repair EP forklifts across all 32 counties and carry out the statutory thorough examination (GA1 in the Republic, LOLER in Northern Ireland). Genuine EP parts come direct from the factory.
