Electric Counterbalance Forklift 1.8T
A 1.8 tonne, 80V lithium-ion forklift on air-filled tyres that's as happy in the yard as in the warehouse. The modern electric replacement for a small diesel truck.

The EFL183 replaces EP's EFL181 with a higher-voltage system, a taller mast and much quicker travel. Here's what that means on site.
The drive and pump motors are permanent-magnet (PMSM) units on an 80V system. EP rates them at up to 17% less energy than traditional AC motors, with quicker acceleration and lifting than the EFL181 it replaces, and no motor maintenance.
Choose 100Ah, 150Ah or 230Ah to match your hours. Lithium needs no watering or battery changes, and you can top up in tea breaks without harming the battery. It charges from the built-in charger or an external one.
Pneumatic tyres, 119 mm of ground clearance and 16% gradeability with a load let it handle yards, ramps and rougher ground that would stop a solid-tyred warehouse truck.
A reinforced CJ-beam mast and stronger chassis keep more capacity at height than the previous model, and the redesigned mast and overhead guard give a clear view of the forks.
A cast, shock-absorbing steer axle cuts vibration, and the low-noise pump keeps it under 70 dB(A) at the seat. Options include speed reduction in turns and when lifting.
Electricity instead of diesel, no engine oil or filters, and fewer wearing parts. Our engineers service it from Navan and Portadown.
Same truck, different battery sizes, so you only pay for the capacity you'll use.
Short or occasional shifts, with a charge overnight.
Most single shifts, especially with top-up charging in breaks.
Long or double shifts, or busy yards where the truck rarely stops.
Not sure which size? Tell us your shift pattern and we'll recommend one.

Own it outright, with EP parts direct from the factory and servicing by our engineers.
See this month's offers →A new EFL183 for a fixed monthly payment, from 12 months, with servicing and repairs included.
See forklift hire →Spread the cost of buying over time, at the strong rates our volume with EP has earned us.
See finance options →Yes. Its pneumatic tyres and 119 mm of ground clearance suit yards, ramps and rougher surfaces, and EP rates the electrical system IPX4 against splashing water. If you only ever work indoors on smooth floors, the solid-tyred CPD18FVL turns tighter.
It comes with an 80V lithium-ion battery in 100Ah, 150Ah (standard) or 230Ah. The right size depends on how many hours the truck works each shift and whether it can top up during breaks. Tell us your shift pattern and we'll recommend one.
The EFL183 runs on 80V instead of 48V, lifts to 6.0 m instead of 4.8 m, and travels at 16 km/h laden against 8.5 km/h. Its PMSM motors also use less energy, by up to 17% against traditional AC motors according to EP.
Yes, on contract hire from 12 months, with servicing, repairs and GA1/LOLER inspections included in one monthly payment. We don't offer short-term hire. See forklift hire.
For loads up to 1.8 t and lift heights up to 6 m, usually yes, and with no exhaust it can work indoors as well as out. Send us your loads, lift heights and ground conditions and we'll confirm, or suggest the EFL203 if you need more capacity.
