Why choose an indoor / outdoor electric forklift?
EP's EFL range is built to do the work of a diesel or LPG truck: four wheels for stability on yards and ramps, sealed electrics for Irish weather, and lithium-ion batteries big enough for a full shift. You get the same lifting with no exhaust and far lower running costs.

Questions about indoor and outdoor electric forklifts
Can an electric forklift work outside in the rain?
Yes. The EFL range is built for yards as well as warehouses, with sealed electrics. Cabs, lights and pneumatic tyres are available on many models. Tell us about your ground, ramps and weather exposure and we'll recommend the right set-up.
Can an electric forklift replace my diesel forklift?
In most cases, yes. These trucks lift and drive like a diesel truck of the same size, with no exhaust. A 3-tonne electric truck uses about 76% less on energy than a diesel one, according to the product carbon footprint study behind our savings calculator.
What do X2, X5, S, P and Pro mean?
They are EP's versions within the range. X2 is the entry model with a 100Ah battery and lower masts. X5 and the standard EFL models carry 205 to 280Ah batteries. The S and P versions carry bigger batteries, up to 460Ah, for longer shifts. The Pro models are EP's premium trucks. We'll match the version to your hours and loads.
What battery size do I need?
It depends on how many hours the truck works and how hard. A single shift with breaks to top up suits the smaller batteries. Double shifts, heavy loads and lots of ramps suit the bigger S and P batteries. We'll work it out from your hours on a free site visit.
Can I hire an indoor / outdoor forklift?
Yes. Every model is available on contract hire from 12 months, with servicing, repairs and GA1/LOLER inspections included in one monthly payment. We don't do short-term hire.
Who services the forklift?
Our own mobile engineers service and repair EP forklifts across all 32 counties and carry out the statutory thorough examination (GA1 in the Republic, LOLER in Northern Ireland). Genuine EP parts come direct from the factory.
